Import Beans from Turkey
Beans are the fruits of the Fabaceae plant family. They are widely consumed all over the world and are high in fiber and B vitamins. They are also an excellent source of vegetarian protein when used in place of meat. Beans and legumes provide a variety of health advantages, including lower cholesterol, lower blood sugar levels, and increased beneficial gut bacteria. These incredible beans are produced and consumed widely in Turkey.
Health Benefits
Fiber-rich foods, such as kidney beans can help limit the absorption of sugar into the blood, lowering blood sugar levels. One research of 17 persons with type 2 diabetes discovered that eating kidney beans with rice caused a surge in blood sugar after the meal much more than rice alone. Weight gain, in addition to high blood sugar, is a risk factor for diabetes and metabolic syndrome, but kidney beans can minimize these risk factors. According to one study, a white kidney bean extract may help lower body weight and fat mass.
Ways to Consume
Beans can be prepared on the stovetop or in a multi cooker/pressure cooker. Fill a big saucepan halfway with fresh water and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and cook until the beans are cooked but firm. Depending on the type, most beans will cook between 45 minutes to 2 hours.
Cooked dried beans with sea salt and water are great, but adding onion, garlic, or other aromatics to the pot can enhance the flavor even more! These simple additions transform the starchy bean boiling liquid into a fragrant broth as delicious as the beans themselves.
