We realized the highest textile export of all time to 96 countries and regions.
One of the most pleasing developments for our industry was experienced in our exports to the USA. In 2021, we exported 839 million dollars’ worth of exports to the USA, which is one of our biggest target markets. We have been steadily increasing our exports to the USA in the last 3 years. In 2022, we expect to export more than 1 billion dollars to the USA.
The countries to which we exported the most in 2022 were Italy with an increase of 52.5 percent, Germany with an increase of 11.2 percent and the USA with an increase of 33.7 percent, respectively. In 2021, our exports to the European Union countries, our biggest export market, increased by 33.8 percent and amounted to approximately 6 billion dollars. We anticipate that our exports to the EU will reach 7.5 billion dollars in 2022.”
Emphasizing that the Turkish textile industry is the 5th largest textile exporter in the world, Ahmet Öksüz said,
Our textile industry is the second supplier of EU countries. Our goal is to set a new record with exports worth 15 billion dollars in 2022.
In this context, we will organize our Texhibition Istanbul Fair, which we aim to hold in Istanbul in 2022 in cooperation with ITO as İTHİB. Our participation in fairs like - “I Of the World Fair” in New York, Premiere Vision Paris, London Textile Fair, Munich Fabric Start, Techtextil Frankfurt- will play an important role in our export attack.
Especially in 2021, our companies strengthened their position in the supply chain by putting new investments into operation rapidly. In 2022, we will be champions not only in exports but also in investments as investments of 10 billion liras will be activated in a short time. In this context, we are rapidly approaching our goal of becoming one of the world's top 3 textile exporting countries in the medium term.

Hazelnut is a dried food that is used raw materials in many food sectors and has seasonal production. When we look at hazelnut production, Mediterranean countries and the USA lead the way in the world. The limited number of hazelnuts producing countries on an international scale increases their effectiveness in the market. Turkey, Italy, the USA, and Azerbaijan can be among the leading hazelnut producers and exporters countries in the world. Turkey has been the most exporting country of 2021, holding more than 60 percent of the world's hazelnut exports. So, how do hazelnut production and exports take over in Turkey?
According to the data of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Climate, the regions where hazelnuts are produced in Turkey are divided into three zones. The provinces in the first region, which is the most core region in hazelnut production, are Artvin, Giresun, Trabzon, Rize, and Ordu. Ordu is the province where the most hazelnuts are produced in Turkey. The second area is Samsun and Kastamonu. The third region is Zonguldak, Düzce, Sakarya and Kocaeli. Hazelnut production continues to expand due to increasing many enterprises in Sakarya and Düzce provinces and high yields.
According to the Black Sea Hazelnut and Products Exporters Association, Turkey earned around 2 billion 260 million dollars from hazelnut exports in 2021. A total of 344,370 tons of hazelnuts were exported, reaching the highest figure in Turkey's history. If this continues, hazelnut production is expected to exceed 350 thousand tons in the 2021-2022 season. The increasing producer price in hazelnut exports every year and the diesel and fertilizer assistance provided by the state are the main factors that increase production.
